AEM Reinvests to Help Exhibitors Reach Their Goals

When a show is held only once every three years, it’s easy to forget how much thought and planning takes place early in the cycle. Case in point: much of the success of this year’s CONEXPO-CON/AGG show can be traced back to major reinvestments totaling some $5 million included in the show budget approved two years ago in March 2015. You Helped Raise Over $100,000!

CONEXPO-CON/AGG and IFPE attendees and exhibitors banded together to help military veterans find quality jobs through multiple charitable events throughout the week that supported the Call of Duty™ Endowment. Our show community’s donation equated to placing approximately 180 veterans in quality jobs.

BEWARE: Bogus Invoices

Unfortunately, exhibitors at trade shows have become a target for those unscrupulous groups that prey on companies by tricking them into paying for things they never ordered.  A company has come to our attention who appears to be doing just that. The company name is The Pink Light out of Atlanta and they claim to be a staffing agency who has billed several of our exhibitors for booth staff services rendered over CONEXPO-CON/AGG & IFPE.  They also include an invoice and W9 to try and lend legitimacy to the claim.  Our exhibitors did not contract for or receive these services.  If you receive such communication, DO NOT render payment (unless you contracted for and received the services) and forward all information to Mary Bukovic, at AEM, mbukovic@aem.org.  AEM takes the matter of protecting our exhibitors very seriously and is working with our legal team on this case. A special thank you to those exhibitors who made us aware of the situation—you often are the first line of defense and we appreciate your diligence.

LVCVA Update

In 2016 the state of Nevada approved funding for a new exhibit hall and meeting space at the Las Vegas Convention Center. While the timeline for the project is still tentative, the facility is working to meet all our space needs on the LVCC campus in 2020. In the meantime, AEM will continue our due diligence by exploring all available space options.
